A “Mint to Be” Rowan Museum Wedding – Salisbury NC Wedding Planner

The Summer heat officially arrived in North Carolina, after teasing us for most of May, just in time for Memorial Day Weekend. This is the somewhat unofficial start of Summer Wedding Season, and we kicked it off right with a charming wedding at the Rowan Museum  in downtown Salisbury, NC. The couple, Maggie and Cheng, booked Left Lane Productions for floral design and a “My Perfect Day” directing package.

The ceremony and Cocktail hour were held outside in the Rowan Museum’s quaint courtyard.

The reception was held inside the Rowan Museum’s Messinger Room. This is a beautiful space for an intimate reception, and a very affordable option.

There were several really fun and sweet details, plus some beautiful floral pieces designed by Left Lane Productions.

Left Lane Grand Opening and Planning Boutique Reveal – Thomasville NC Wedding Planner

All of the fabulous planners at Left Lane Productions have been buzzing around like the busy little bees that we are. Our beautiful Downtown Thomasville venue “The Gallery” had been pulling double duty for the last year by also housing our offices. This arrangement, while great for a season, we knew was temporary and we needed to give our rental clients a little more room to celebrate in. So when the space next door became available, we knew it was the opportunity we’d been looking for. We got to work packing up our office and decor (soooo much decor), and moved it into Left Lane Production’s new Wedding and Event Planning Boutique.

After all our hard work setting up shop, we wanted to let everyone know, and so why not celebrate this great new venture by having a Grand Opening and Ribbon Cutting ceremony for both of our great spaces! While we’ve been operating the Gallery for a little over a year, we’d never had an official opening and well, we do like special occasions……. it’s kind of our thing.

Our friends, families and colleagues were joined by Chamber and city officials from Lexington and Thomasville in gathering for our special occasion. We are so grateful for the support of everyone that showed up to wish us and our business well!

Check out pictures from our Grand Opening below, and be sure to contact us for your next wedding or event.

Nothing says official like a pair of big Scissors!

How great is our new Planning Boutique?!?! We now have an amazing space for our offices, a consultation area to plan your dream event, a room for floral design, plus some storage for extra decor.

We enjoyed refreshments and mingling while listening to live music by The Smith Family and Ms. Thomasville was even there!

Left Lane wanted to show just how versatile the Gallery can be, since it’s great for any kind of small event. We set up a few tables to demonstrate this, and to showcase our mad decorating skills.

A colorful Birthday Party!

This design could work for any kind of reception, including weddings, luncheons, or showers.

Guest Book Alternate that can stand for Generations! – Greensboro, NC Wedding Planner

Check out this beautiful, yet simple, guest book idea!!

The Groom made this for his Bride, and now she can not only cherish it for years to come but can pass it down for generations.  Many traditional guest books get thrown in a box and are never displayed and most can’t even stand the test of time.  This wedding bench is a perfect way to sustain your memories for many years to come!

Tip: Make sure you purchase a paint pen that can be used on wood surfaces!

Tip:  Make sure you use a great glossy sealer after the signatures and messages are in place.

Online Wedding “Consultant”? Oh boy…

What are the chances a computer can pin on a boutonniere?

As wedding planners we get quite a bit of “competition” from a lot of different places. Like the groom’s, roommate’s, cousin’s, dog walker’s sister who “totally loves reading wedding magazines and knows all the latest trends, and was once a bridesmaid!”.

Yeah, ummmm, see those quotation marks around the word competition? That means I’m using that word lightly…very lightly. Because even though it’s hard to take that kind of “experience” seriously (yep, there’s those quotation marks again),  we still have to try and explain to couples why maybe they don’t want to leave their wedding day in the hands of Bridesmaid Sally, armed with the latest issue of Brides magazine. Budget usually plays a large role in this decision, but a lot of it can also be chalked up to  the fact that for most couples this is their first time working on a wedding and they just don’t know any better…….yet. Ignorance is bliss, as the saying goes.

So now, as if we didn’t have enough trouble dealing with physical “threats” (last one I promise),  some wedding websites are offering planning and coordinating services.

Today we’re sharing a blog post from Tonia Adleta, owner of Aribella Events. Her view on this subject really echos the thoughts of all of the Triad Wedding Planners here at Left Lane Productions. If you are on the fence about using online or personal coordinating, be sure to read this first.

Sweetheart Garden Styled Shoot at Villa de l’Amour – High Point NC Wedding Planner

In February Left Lane Productions put together our very first styled shoot. It was a lot of planning, organizing and coordinating, but hey, that’s our specialty so, no big deal =)

Our color inspiration came from Pantone’s Colors of the year Rose Quartz and Serenity. They’re just soooo dreamy!  We wanted to keep the feeling very romantic, classic and sophisticated, so we added some gold and creams to the mix.  The venue manager at Villa de l’Amour had already been talking to us about doing a shoot at their location, so it seemed like the perfect place to get started. They have a beautiful space in downtown High Point, with indoor and outdoor options, both of which we will be sharing pictures of.

We pulled together a great group of vendors, some from Villa’s preferred list and some that we’ve just been itching to work with. They all helped us bring our vision to life. We asked professional  Elizabeth Larson to be our primary photographer. She’s been in the business for around 25 years and  her wonderful work has been featured in several magazines. I’ll be mainly sharing her pictures, and will feature them first. Our 2nd shooter, Melissa Cattani, is a newer, up and coming  photographer who is just getting started in the wedding industry. I’ll show her work towards the end. Both of them captured our shoot beautifully, in their own unique style.  Be sure to check them out, as well as all the awesome vendors that participated. Links to their websites are at the end of this post.

So now I’ll get out of the way and start sharing what you really came to see, these amazing pictures!

In the ceremony room we featured a setup with soft draping fabric, and the classically beautiful flowers by Dahlia’s. We are really loving the simple beauty of these colors.

elarsonphoto_A-0037elarsonphoto_A-0044This lace covered gown by Allure, paired with the cathedral veil is stunning!

How gorgeous is the new Aracella gown by Maggie Sottero?!?!
All those full, rich layers of tulle is enough to make any princess swoon, yet it’s not  an over the top ballgown. She still has a very soft earthy feel that’s almost a little bohemian.
The birdcage veil ties in perefectly!

Villa de l’Amour has a fabulous patio area you can use for your ceremony, cocktail hour or reception. The fountain is a favorite detail.

Commons on the Green Bridal Bazaar – Lexington NC Wedding Planner

Yesterday we hosted a Bridal Bazaar at Commons on the Green in the Lexington Golf Club. They recently renovated this venue and it looks great! The inside received some really nice updates, bringing in a clean classic look and an outdoor Terrace was added, which is perfect for ceremonies and small receptions.

We gathered some of our favorite vendors to help show off this space to Triad area engaged couples who are in their planning stage.

We had a great crowd and all of our vendors left happy. That’s a good day in our books!

Check out some pictures we took of the venue, vendors and our designs.

Testing, testing…..Hello?

At long last, the Left Lane blog has returned! Due to some technical and physical difficulties, we have not been able to keep up to date with our postings on here. But have no fear, we have risen from the ashes!!!

Ok, so really our amazing Summer intern left for College, and some things fell through the cracks during our super  busy Fall wedding season, including our blog password. Now here we are, having recovered our log in credentials (no, it wasn’t just password123), and we are so excited to share everything that has been going on.

Seriously, we have SO MUCH pent up blogging to get out! Real Weddings, our first styled shoot, events at The Gallery, and lots of advice for everyone in various stages of their wedding and event planning.

So buckle up and hold on, we’ll be kicking this thing off soon!
